Stephen Mosley

Biographical Details

Stephen is married to Caroline and they have two young children. Stephen has lived in Chester for almost 15 years and is well known across the city.

A graduate of Nottingham University, Stephen worked for IBM for four years before setting up his own IT Consultancy in 1997. Since then his business has diversified into property management and now has commercial and residential property interests in North Wales.

Stephen has longstanding family and business relationships in the central African country of Malawi. He has been the personal guest of the Minister of Agriculture during a visit to Malawi and has hosted visits by Malawian politicians to the UK.

After Stephen's son received a bicycle for Christmas 2005, Stephen started accompanying him on frequent bicycle rides across the area (fair weather only!). Stephen also spends his free time looking after his children’s Malawi Cichlid tropical fish and, after his children have gone to bed, reading and spending quality time with his wife.

Stephen's Experience

Stephen was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the City of Chester Constituency in September 2007 and is working hard across the whole of the city.

Between 2007 and 2009 Stephen was the Deputy Leader of Chester City Council, following the ousting of the Labour and Lib Dem coalition that had governed Chester for almost 20 years.

Stephen was first elected onto Chester City Council in 2000 and represented the Handbridge & St Mary's ward. He was re-elected in 2004, gaining the largest number of votes ever obtained in the ward. As well as being Deputy Leader of the Council, Stephen was also the Executive Member for Customer Services.

In 2005 Stephen was elected to represent the Chester Overleigh Division on Cheshire County Council and was Chairman of the Health & Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee, Vice-chairman of the Community Services Scrutiny Committee and a member of the Cheshire Fire Authority.
